๐ฌ FAQ
Is Guardian Ultrasonic a jammer?
No, not in the traditional sense. It doesn't block radio signals like mobile data, Wi-Fi, or Bluetooth. Guardian Ultrasonic uses ultrasonic acoustic waves (high-frequency sound) to physically interfere with microphones.
Does it block all microphones in the room?
Guardian Ultrasonic is designed to protect you from your devices recording your private conversations. It does not cover the whole room. (careful with products claiming to do so - they are usually misleading.)
Does it work with phone cases?
Yes, it works with most phone cases. Certain phones cases with a subpar build quality can sometimes block the microphone slightly. In those situations simply place the phone on the device without a case.
How should I transport the device?
Flip the power switch on the bottom to off. Use the original product packaging or a padded bag - the product packaging was specifically designed to protect the device during transport and includes space for the USB-C charging cable.
How do I store the device?
Flip the power switch on the bottom to off. You can still charge the battery while it's off. Store it in a dry place, away from heat or direct sunlight.
Is Guardian Ultrasonic safe for my phone?
Yes it is safe. It doesn't affect your phone in any harmful way. The ultrasonic waves target microphones only and the device has been in use in our offices for a longtime without issues.
๐ง Troubleshooting
First step, plug the device in with the provided USB-C cable to make sure the battery is not empty.
Device not turning on?
Make sure the power switch on the bottom of the device is flipped to green (see first step above).
Not activating when a phone is placed on the top surface?
If you cannot hear the activation sound and see the Guardian front logo light turn on after placing a phone at the top, try to reposition the phone.
Poor or degraded microphone jamming quality?
There are multiple reasons why the jamming quality may be impacted. Follow each step to identify the issue:
Reposition your phone on the top surface by placing the phone microphones closer to the edge of Guardian Ultrasonic. Closer proximity of the phone microphones to the edge can improve microphone jamming quality.
Avoid placing your phone on the top surface in a steep angle [ / ] but instead prefer a neutral position [ I ]
If your phone is in a case, take off the case and try without. Some phone cases, depending on build quality and precision of microphone cutouts, can interfere with the microphone jamming quality.
A common issue is small pieces of dirty / jeans fiber collecting over time in the phone microphone cutouts. Take a small pointy object, like a toothpick, and gently remove dirty from the microphone cutouts. This can improve the microphone jamming quality dramatically.
